Welcome to My Decor Life, a home decor site for people who decorate their own homes on practical budgets. I’m Skye, and I’ve been fussing over rooms since I was about seven years old. The easiest way to use this site is to pick the one space that’s bothering you most and start there.

Bathrooms covers styles and colors, small bathrooms and half baths, guest and kids’ bathrooms, and the walls, shelves, mirrors and storage that make a tight room work. Living Rooms takes on styles, walls, furniture layout, fireplaces, shelf styling, lighting, throw pillows and holiday decor. Bedrooms looks at every kind of sleeping space, from a master bedroom to a dorm room, along with headboards, bed layering, rugs and walls. Outdoor Spaces moves outside to front porches, patios, balconies, curb appeal, lighting, sunrooms and holiday yards. Kitchens includes kitchen styles, walls and shelves, small kitchens, dining rooms and table decor.

Before you buy anything, I’d ask you to do one thing for me and measure the space. A tape measure and a roll of painter’s tape will save you more money than any sale. Once you know your numbers, it’s much easier to tell which ideas will actually fit your home.
