Terms

Last updated: October 31, 2026.

These terms apply to your use of My Decor Life at mydecorlife.com, including its articles, product roundups, images, design and contact form. They also apply to any message you send to the site through the contact form or by email. Please read them along with the Disclosure page and the Privacy Policy.

Acceptance of these terms

By visiting or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. The Disclosure page and the Privacy Policy sit alongside these terms, and each one is linked above. The Disclosure page explains how the site earns money, and the Privacy Policy explains what information is handled. If one of those pages speaks more specifically to a subject than these terms do, the more specific page applies to that subject.

In these terms, the site’s owner means the person or business that owns My Decor Life. The owner is not named publicly on the site. The Site Parties means the site’s owner, anyone who operates the site on the owner’s behalf, and the real people and businesses who contribute to it. Those contributors can include editors, writers, developers, image creators, contractors and other helpers. The protections in these terms that mention the Site Parties are meant to benefit each of them to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

The site is written for adults in the United States who are decorating their own homes, whether they rent or own. It is not directed to children under 13.

What My Decor Life provides

My Decor Life publishes home decor ideas and product roundups for people decorating on practical budgets. Its subjects include bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, outdoor spaces and kitchens. The site is an informational publication that you can read without signing up for anything. Its Contact page offers a contact form for private messages to the site’s owner, and it also lists the site’s email address.

The site does not offer user accounts, public comments, a newsletter or email list, online sales or payments. It does not sell products, take orders, process refunds, ship goods or provide design services. When a product link takes you to Amazon, any purchase happens on Amazon and not on this site.

Articles published on WordPress from 2020 to 2021 keep their original text and publication dates after the site’s move. That means some older pages may describe products, prices, styles, links or practices that are no longer current. Please check the date of an article and confirm anything important before you act on it.

The site may be changed, paused, reorganized or removed at any time, in whole or in part, without notice. Pages, links, images, articles and the contact form can be edited, suspended or withdrawn. The site does not promise that any page or feature will remain available, and it does not promise uninterrupted access.

Editorial personas and generated portraits

Articles on this site are bylined Skye Rhodes, who is an editorial persona of the site and not a real individual writer. The writer portraits on the site are generated images and are not photographs of real people. A portrait does not depict a real reviewer, designer, tester or customer.

The biography, background, hometown, age, family history, homes, habits and experiences given for a persona are part of that editorial presentation. That includes any statement that a persona founded the site, which does not identify the site’s owner. These details are not credentials, and they are not evidence for any recommendation. A persona is not a licensed professional, and nothing about a persona should lead you to treat the site’s content as expert advice. First-person language in an article, a biography or the Contact page is an editorial voice. It should not be read as proof that anyone used, measured, installed or tested a product. The biography pages do not repeat this explanation, so this section applies to them even though they do not say so themselves. A persona’s name does not identify any real contributor, and a persona does not personally read or answer messages.

Please judge each article by its usefulness to you, and verify anything that matters with the product seller, the manufacturer or a qualified professional. The Disclosure page explains how product roundups are actually researched.

Acceptable use

You may read the site, share links to it, and use its ideas for your own personal, noncommercial decorating. You agree to use it lawfully and in a way that does not harm the site, the Site Parties or other readers.

You agree not to do any of the following.

  • You will not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its hosting, its accounts or any connected system.
  • You will not probe, overload, disrupt or interfere with the site, or try to get around any security or access restriction.
  • You will not try to bypass, defeat or automate your way past Cloudflare Turnstile or any other protection on the contact form.
  • You will not introduce malware, harmful code, or spam through any route, including the contact form and email to the site.
  • You will not misrepresent your identity, or falsely claim a connection with the site or the Site Parties.
  • You will not present the site’s content as your own, or suggest that the site endorses you, your business or your product.
  • You will not use automated tools to copy substantial parts of the site, or to build a competing product or dataset, without written permission.
  • You will not manipulate affiliate links or attempt to generate false clicks or purchases.
  • You will not use the site to harass anyone, to break the law, or to infringe the rights of others.

Ordinary search engine indexing, browser features and accessibility tools are not prohibited by this section.

Intellectual property and permitted reuse

The site’s text, images, graphics, layout, design and name are owned by the site’s owner or used under license, to the extent those materials are protected by law. Product names, brand names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Mentioning a brand or linking to a product does not mean that the brand owner endorses, sponsors or is connected with the site.

You may share a link to any page. You may quote a short passage if you give clear credit to My Decor Life and link back to the original page. You may print or save a page for your own personal reference.

Please do not republish, resell, translate, adapt, scrape or otherwise reuse substantial parts of the site without written permission. That includes copying full articles, images or roundups to another website, a product listing, a printed publication or a commercial dataset. These terms do not limit any use the law allows without permission.

If you believe something on the site infringes your rights, please email hello@mydecorlife.com. Include the page address, a description of the work or right involved, your contact details, and a brief explanation of why you believe the use is unauthorized. An inquiry may be reviewed, and the material may be corrected or removed where appropriate. These terms do not name a registered copyright agent, so that email address is the current route for inquiries of this kind. The Contact section explains how messages to that address are handled. Nothing in this section is a promise about the outcome of an inquiry or a statement that any claim is valid.

Messages and submissions

The site has no public user-content features, so readers cannot post comments, reviews, photos or profiles on it. You can send a private message to the site in two ways, through the contact form on the Contact page or by email to hello@mydecorlife.com. The Contact section explains how each route works.

When you send a question, a product suggestion, a correction or a photo by either route, you confirm that you are allowed to share what you send. The information in your message should be accurate, including the email address you give on the contact form. Please do not send anything confidential, sensitive or owned by someone else unless you have permission. The Privacy Policy explains how those messages are handled.

To the extent the law permits, the site may use the general idea of a suggestion, correction or tip to improve its pages without owing you payment or credit. You keep whatever rights you already have in your own materials. Sending a message does not mean that it will be published, and it does not give you a right to have it published.

Suggesting a product is welcome, but it is not a promise that the product will be reviewed, featured or linked. A reply to a decorating question, if one is sent, is a general decorating thought only. It is not professional design, electrical, structural, safety or legal advice, and it is not based on an inspection of your home. The room dimensions, natural light, budget or other details you share do not turn a reply into a professional assessment. The site does not promise to reply to any message or to reply within any particular time.

No professional advice and home safety

Everything on the site is general information and decorating inspiration. It is not professional interior design, architectural, electrical, plumbing, structural, construction, fire safety, medical, insurance or legal advice. The site’s writers are not presented as licensed professionals, and using the site does not create a professional or client relationship with anyone. No article can see your walls, your wiring, your floors, your lease or the people who live in your home. You are responsible for deciding whether an idea suits your home and your circumstances.

Decorating and DIY projects carry real risks, including serious injury, fire, electric shock, falls and property damage. The points below are examples of common hazards and are not a complete list.

  • Hanging shelves, mirrors, curtain rods, art and other heavy items can cause injury or damage if a fixing fails, so use hardware rated for the weight and for your wall type.
  • Drilling or nailing into a wall can strike hidden wiring, pipes or gas lines, so locate what is behind the surface before you start.
  • Ladders, step stools, power tools and heavy lifting can cause falls, cuts and strains, so use the right equipment and get help when a job needs it.
  • Lighting, outlets, ceiling fixtures, ceiling fans and any other wiring work can cause shock or fire, so hire a licensed electrician for wiring.
  • Gas, plumbing and structural changes should be left to qualified, properly licensed professionals.
  • Products used near water, in bathrooms, or outdoors need ratings suited to wet or damp locations, and products without them may be unsafe or fail early.
  • Outdoor lighting, string lights and extension cords need outdoor ratings, and outdoor furniture and decor may need securing against wind.
  • Products used near stoves, fireplaces, fire pits, heaters, candles or other heat sources need appropriate heat and fire ratings, along with safe clearances.
  • Kitchen shelves, racks and surfaces should suit the weight, heat and moisture they will face, and items that touch food should be suitable for that use.
  • Rugs and runners can cause slips and trips, so check that they stay in place on your floor.
  • Furniture, mirrors and televisions can tip or fall, and homes with children need secure anchoring and careful placement.
  • Cords, small parts, glass, sharp edges, and unsecured items can be dangerous around children and pets.
  • Paints, stains, adhesives, and cleaning products can release fumes or cause harm, so follow the label and ventilate the space.
  • Older homes, older painted surfaces and vintage furniture may contain hazardous materials such as lead paint or asbestos, so check before sanding, scraping, drilling or refinishing.

Always follow manufacturer instructions, product ratings, weight limits and safety warnings, even where an article suggests something different. Follow local building, electrical and fire codes, along with any permit requirements that apply to your project. Hire a qualified, properly licensed professional when a project is beyond your skills, involves wiring, gas or structural work, or simply makes you unsure. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission publishes product recall information at cpsc.gov/Recalls, which is worth checking for items you own or plan to buy.

If you rent, your lease may limit painting, drilling, mounting, wallpaper or other wall changes. If you own, a homeowners association or local rule may limit what you can do, particularly outdoors. Check those rules before you begin, because the site cannot tell you what your lease, association or insurance policy allows.

You decide whether to start any project, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you undertake it at your own risk.

Disclaimer of warranties

The site and its content are provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site Parties disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. That includes any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement and accuracy.

The Site Parties do not warrant that the site’s content is complete, current, reliable or free of errors. They do not warrant that the site or its contact form will be uninterrupted, secure or free of viruses or other harmful components. They do not warrant that a product will fit your space, match a photo, suit your needs, or perform as described in a listing or a buyer review. They do not warrant that any measurement, price, availability statement, rating or link is correct at the moment you read it. They make no warranty about any product sold by a third party.

Some states do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Where a warranty cannot lawfully be disclaimed, it is limited to the minimum extent and shortest period the law allows. Nothing in this section takes away a warranty or right you have against a seller or manufacturer of a product you buy.

Limitation of liability

This section limits the liability of the Site Parties to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. It applies to the site’s owner, its operators and its contributors, whether the claim is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, statute or any other theory.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site Parties are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages. They are also not liable, to that same extent, for lost profits, lost savings, lost data, lost use, the cost of replacement goods or services, or similar losses.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site Parties are not liable for loss or damage arising from any of the following.

  • Your use of the site or your inability to use it.
  • Your reliance on any article, idea, measurement, price, rating, listing summary, buyer review summary or reply to a message.
  • Any project, installation, repair, modification or decorating decision you carry out or arrange.
  • Personal injury, illness, property damage, fire, water damage, electrical damage or a lost deposit connected with a project or product.
  • Any product you buy, including its quality, safety, dimensions, delivery, returns or warranty.
  • Any act, omission, content, policy or service of Amazon, a seller, a manufacturer, a landlord, a contractor or another third party.
  • Errors, omissions, outdated information, broken links, outages, data loss, malware or unauthorized access.
  • A contact form submission or email that is blocked, not delivered, not read or not answered.

These limits apply even if a Site Party was told that a loss was possible. They also apply to the extent the law permits if a limited remedy does not fully compensate you.

These limits do not exclude or restrict liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Depending on where you live, that may include liability for fraud, willful injury, gross negligence, certain personal injury claims, or a violation of law. For example, California law restricts contracts that try to exempt a party from responsibility for its own fraud, willful injury or violation of law. Some states do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some or all of this section may not apply to you. This section does not claim that the Site Parties can never be liable, and it does not remove any right that the law says cannot be waived.

Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Site Parties against third-party claims, losses, liabilities, costs and reasonable legal fees that arise from certain conduct of yours. That conduct is your misuse of the site, your breach of these terms, your violation of law or of someone else’s rights, or material you send that you were not entitled to share. It also includes reusing the site’s content in a way these terms do not permit.

This section does not make you responsible for a loss to the extent it was caused by a Site Party’s own fraud, willful misconduct or other conduct for which the law does not allow indemnification. It applies only where and to the extent that the law allows such an obligation, and it does not remove any consumer protection that cannot be waived.

Third-party links, products and sellers

The site links to websites and services that it does not own or control, including Amazon. Those websites have their own terms, privacy practices, prices, policies and content, and you use them at your own discretion. A link does not mean that the site endorses the linked business, or that it has checked everything on the linked page.

The seller controls its listing, price, stock, shipping, returns and warranty. The manufacturer or seller is responsible for the safety and quality of the product it makes or sells, as the law provides. Your contract for a purchase is with the seller or marketplace and not with My Decor Life. Any question about an order, a refund, a defect, a recall or a warranty claim should go to the seller or manufacturer.

Before you buy, please confirm the dimensions, materials, ratings, safety information, compatibility, price and return terms on the current listing. Check that the item fits your space and suits where you plan to use it. Product photos, buyer reviews and listing claims are third-party content, and the site does not verify them. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site Parties are not responsible for third-party websites, products or content.

Affiliate and commercial relationships

My Decor Life participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. The site earns from qualifying purchases made through its Amazon links. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Each article shows an affiliate disclosure below its featured image, and every page’s footer carries the Amazon Associates Program statement.

The site does not run display advertising, and it has no sponsored posts, paid placements or other affiliate programs. Product roundups summarize listings, specifications and buyer reviews, and products are not tested hands-on. The Disclosure page explains these relationships and their limits in detail.

Privacy and cookies

The Privacy Policy describes how the site handles information. It covers Google Analytics 4, Cloudflare hosting and Workers, Cloudflare Turnstile, Cloudflare Email Routing, Amazon affiliate links, the contact form, email you send, and the theme choice stored in your browser. Please read it to understand your choices, including the limits of those choices.

Restricting or ending access

The site has no accounts to suspend or close, so access works differently here than on a membership site. To the extent the law permits, access by a person, device, network, bot or location may be limited or blocked where the owner reasonably believes these terms have been broken or the site is at risk. Automated protections from the site’s hosting provider may also limit traffic, and Cloudflare Turnstile may stop a contact form submission from going through. Messages that are abusive, unlawful or repetitive may be ignored or blocked.

The site may be changed or closed at any time. If your right to use the site ends, the sections that by their nature should continue will keep applying. Those include the sections on intellectual property, warranties, liability, indemnification and rights that cannot be waived.

Governing law and mandatory rights

These terms do not choose a governing law, and they do not name a court or a place where a dispute must be brought. Any question about which law applies, or which court can hear a dispute, will be decided under the rules that apply to that question.

Nothing in these terms removes a right or protection that you have under mandatory consumer protection or other law. That includes rights in the place where you live if those rights cannot be waived by agreement.

Resolving disagreements

If you have a concern about the site, please use the contact form or email hello@mydecorlife.com and explain it. A direct message may be a simple way to raise a mistake or a misunderstanding. That is a request and not a required step before you pursue any right you have.

These terms do not contain an arbitration agreement, a class action waiver or a mandatory dispute process. They also do not set a special deadline for bringing a claim.

Severability

If a court or other authority finds any part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary. The rest of these terms will continue to apply. Where possible, the affected part should be read in the way that comes closest to its original purpose while remaining lawful.

No waiver

If the site’s owner does not enforce a part of these terms at a particular time, that does not give up the right to enforce it later. A waiver applies only if it is given in writing and only to the matter it describes.

Entire agreement

These terms, the Disclosure page and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and the site’s owner about your use of the site. They replace earlier versions of these pages for the period after the update date shown above. They do not replace mandatory protections that apply to you under the law. They also do not change any separate agreement you make with Amazon, a seller or a manufacturer. A reply to a message or an informal statement does not change these terms unless it clearly says that it does.

Assignment

The site’s owner may transfer these terms and the rights under them to a new owner or operator of the site, such as in a sale, reorganization or other transfer, to the extent the law permits. These terms will continue to apply after that kind of transfer. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to someone else without written permission. A transfer of the site does not reduce any right that the law says you keep.

Events outside reasonable control

The Site Parties are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside their reasonable control, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Such events can include outages at a hosting, network, security or email provider, cyberattacks, power or internet failures, changes to third-party services, natural disasters, public emergencies, government action and labor disruption.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the site, its services or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. The site has no accounts or email list, so updates will normally be shown by posting the new version here and not by sending individual notices. Changes apply from the update date and are not intended to reach back to events that happened before it. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms to the extent the law permits. If you do not agree with a change, please stop using the site. Where the law requires a different form of notice, that requirement will be followed.

Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact form on the Contact page or by email to hello@mydecorlife.com. The contact form and the email address are separate routes, and both are currently offered. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks each submission for bots. A Cloudflare Worker then sends each form submission to the private inbox of the site’s owner. Email sent to hello@mydecorlife.com is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to the owner’s private inbox. Messages sent by either route are handled by the site’s owner. If the contact form gives you any trouble, you can email hello@mydecorlife.com directly. No phone number or street address is published for the site. The site does not promise a response or a response time, and it cannot guarantee that every message will arrive.
