Disclosure

Last updated: October 31, 2026.

My Decor Life wants you to know how the site earns money before you click on anything. This page describes the site’s commercial relationships, how its product roundups are put together, and the limits of what those roundups can tell you. It works together with the Terms and the Privacy Policy.

How this site discloses commercial relationships

The site’s approach is simple to state. If a commercial relationship could affect how you view a recommendation, you should be able to find out about it in plain language. This page sets out those relationships as the site currently understands them, including the kinds of arrangements the site does not have.

This page is an explanation of the site’s practices. It is not a claim that every page complies with every advertising or disclosure rule in every place. If you think a disclosure on the site is missing or unclear, please use the contact details in Questions and changes to this disclosure.

Amazon Associates Program

My Decor Life participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. In that statement, the word we refers to the site and not to an editorial persona. The site’s product roundups contain Amazon links, and the site earns from qualifying purchases made through them.

Participation in this program is the site’s one affiliate relationship. It does not mean that Amazon has reviewed, approved or endorsed the site, its articles, or any recommendation made on it. Amazon and related marks belong to Amazon or its affiliates.

Affiliate relationships the site has and does not have

The Amazon Associates Program is the only affiliate program in use on the site. The site has no other affiliate programs, and it has no affiliate arrangement with a brand, a retailer other than Amazon, or a manufacturer. The site does not sell products itself, so it does not earn from direct sales.

When you follow an Amazon link and make a qualifying purchase, the site may earn a commission. The amount depends on Amazon’s program rules and can vary by product type. Depending on those rules, a commission may also apply to other items you buy during the same visit, including items the site never mentioned. The commission comes at no extra cost to you, and the site does not add any charge to the price you pay when you use one of its links. You are never required to buy anything, and you can search for a product yourself or buy it from any seller you choose.

The Privacy Policy explains how cookies and tracking relate to these links.

Advertising status

My Decor Life does not run display advertising. There are no banner ads, no display ad networks and no ad placements for sale on the site. Affiliate links are the site’s disclosed form of advertising, because they are a way of earning from promoting products. If display advertising is ever added, this page and the Privacy Policy would need to be updated to describe it, along with how those ads are placed and labeled.

Sponsorship status

The site has no sponsorships. It does not publish sponsored posts, and it does not accept paid placements. No company is paying for its product to appear in a roundup or for a roundup to be published. A product suggestion sent through the contact form or by email is not a paid placement, and it is not a promise that the product will be featured. If that ever changes, sponsored material should be clearly labeled as sponsored on the page where it appears, and this page would be updated.

Compensation, free products and other material connections

The Amazon commission described above is the only compensation connected with the site’s product coverage. There are no payments from brands for coverage, ranking or placement. This page does not identify any arrangement for free products or review samples, and products are not tested hands-on.

The site’s articles are bylined Skye Rhodes, who is an editorial persona of the site and not a real individual writer. A persona cannot hold a personal commercial relationship with a brand, because a persona is not a real person. The real relationship to keep in mind is the one between the site and the Amazon Associates Program.

If the site ever has a material connection of a different kind, such as a gift, free product, discount or payment that could affect how a reader views a recommendation, it should be disclosed clearly where it matters.

Editorial independence and conflicts of interest

An affiliate commission is a real financial incentive, and readers deserve to have that stated openly. A site that earns from Amazon has a reason to link to Amazon rather than to other sellers, and a reason to publish content about products people may buy. This page does not claim that the site is free of that conflict of interest.

The point of the disclosure is to let you weigh that interest for yourself. The commission a product may earn should not be read as proof that it is the right choice for your home. Inclusion in a roundup is not a guarantee of quality, and leaving a product out is not a criticism of it. Brands do not pay to be included, because the site has no sponsored or paid-placement arrangements. The same item, or a better alternative, may be available elsewhere, including from local stores, thrift shops and flea markets that earn the site nothing.

No guaranteed savings or results

The site writes for people decorating on practical budgets, but it does not promise that you will save money. A product described as affordable or good value at the time of writing may cost more when you read about it, and a cheaper option may exist. Any price, deal or budget figure on the site is an example and not a guarantee.

The site also does not promise any decorating result. A product may look different in your home, depending on lighting, room size, finish and what is around it. It may not fit, last, or perform as you expect, and a decorating idea may not suit your space, your lease or your taste. The site does not offer any income or earnings opportunity.

How product roundups are researched

Product roundups are research summaries. They are based on published product listings, specifications and buyer reviews, including details such as dimensions, materials, care instructions and listing information. The site does not test products hands-on.

That limit is important, and it affects what a roundup can tell you.

  • A roundup is not based on anyone using, handling, measuring, assembling, installing, cleaning or living with the products it covers.
  • A roundup cannot confirm that a listing is accurate, that a safety rating is valid, or that a product will hold up over time.
  • A summary of buyer feedback reflects what third parties have posted, and it may be incomplete, out of date or unrepresentative.
  • The site does not verify that buyer reviews are genuine, and some reviews on any marketplace may be incentivized or unreliable.
  • A roundup is not a complete survey of the market, and products outside it may be better for you.

The disclosure on each article says that ratings reflect the site’s own editorial evaluation. That evaluation is an opinion formed from research of the kind described above, and it is not a test result or a measurement. A rating from the site does not mean that anyone used the product, and no brand pays for one. A rating should not be read as a safety finding or as a comparison with every product on the market.

The site’s roundups rely on third-party buyer reviews and do not rely on customer testimonials gathered by the site. The buyer feedback they describe comes from third-party listings and not from verified customers of the site. First-person statements in articles or biographies are an editorial voice, and they are not consumer testimonials or evidence that anyone used a product. The Terms explain that the writers named on the site are editorial personas with generated portraits, and that their backgrounds are not credentials or evidence for a recommendation. Do not assume that an image in an article shows a product that was used, a real home or a finished project.

Some older articles were first published on WordPress from 2020 to 2021 and keep their original text. Whatever their wording, no article on the site should be read as a report of hands-on testing.

Product details, prices and seller responsibility

Product details, prices, availability, ratings and buyer reviews can change at any time. Sellers can alter a listing, swap a material, or change a color or size range without notice. Any price or availability detail mentioned on the site reflects a past moment and may no longer be right. The information shown on Amazon at the time of purchase is what applies to your order.

Please check your measurements and read the current listing before you order. Confirm the dimensions, materials, weight limits, ratings, safety information, return terms and warranty directly with the seller or manufacturer. This matters most for products that will be mounted, wired, used near water or heat, or kept around children.

The site does not sell products, and it does not handle orders, shipping, refunds, warranties or recalls. Any warranty comes from the seller or manufacturer and not from My Decor Life. Those questions should go to the seller or manufacturer.

Informational purpose and professional advice

The site’s articles and roundups are general information and decorating inspiration. They are not professional design, electrical, structural, fire safety or legal advice. DIY projects such as hanging shelves, mirrors, curtain rods and lighting carry injury and property-damage risks. Follow manufacturer instructions, and hire a licensed electrician for wiring. Products used near water, heat or children need appropriate ratings and safe mounting. Rental agreements may limit changes to walls, so check yours before you begin. The Terms set out these risks and limits in more detail.

Accuracy, updates and corrections

The site tries to be useful, but it does not promise that every article is accurate, complete or current. A measurement may be wrong, a link may break, and a product may be discontinued or changed. Older articles keep their original text and publication dates after the move from WordPress, so they may be out of date even though they are still available. The date on an article is not a sign that it has been recently checked.

If you spot a broken link, an outdated product detail or a measurement that looks wrong, please use the contact form or email hello@mydecorlife.com with the page address and a short note. A note may be reviewed, but there is no fixed schedule for reviews, updates or corrections. A correction may be made without a visible notice on the page.

Where disclosures appear

This page gives the full explanation, and it is not the only place a reader can learn about the site’s affiliate links. Each article shows the following affiliate disclosure below its featured image.

We may earn a commission when you buy through our links, but this comes at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Ratings reflect our own editorial evaluation.

Every page’s footer also carries the following Amazon Associates Program statement.

My Decor Life is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

A disclosure works best when it is clear, easy to notice, and close to the recommendation or link it relates to. That is the standard the site aims for in its product roundups, but this page does not claim that a separate notice appears beside every individual link.

Please treat any Amazon link in a product roundup as an affiliate link, even if you do not see a notice beside that particular link. The link may look like ordinary text or a button, and following it will take you away from this site to Amazon. If you find a product recommendation where the affiliate relationship is not clear, please let the site know.

Questions and changes to this disclosure

This page may be updated if the site’s commercial relationships, research methods or services change. The date at the top shows when it last changed. The site has no email list or accounts, so changes will normally be shown by updating this page.

Questions about this disclosure can be sent through the contact form on the Contact page or by email to hello@mydecorlife.com. The form and the email address are separate routes, and both are currently offered. A Cloudflare Worker sends each form submission to the private inbox of the site’s owner. Email sent to hello@mydecorlife.com is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to the owner’s private inbox. Messages sent by either route are handled by the site’s owner. The site does not promise a response or a response time, and it cannot guarantee that every message will arrive.
